From November 25 to December 6 this year, a specialized training program was held as part of the Qualification Course for Road Safety Auditors. The aim of which is to enhance the qualifications of specialists and introduce modern approaches to road safety audits.
Participants
The training involved representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic and faculty members of the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Iskhak Razzakov (KSTU). The program was conducted by international experts:
• Egidijus Skrodenis (MC Mobility, Lithuania),
• Dovydas Skrodenis (MC Mobility, Lithuania),
• Aivaras Vilkelis (MC Mobility, Lithuania),
• Daniel Elias (Nast Consultants, Austria).
Training Program
The course combined theoretical and practical sessions covering key aspects of road safety audits:
1. Theoretical Foundations and Principles of Road Safety Audits;
2. Practical Application of Technologies in Road Safety Audits;
3. International Experience and Best Practices Based on the Examples of Lithuania and Austria;
4. On-Site Practical Sessions:
- Participants assessed actual road sections using their newly acquired knowledge;
- Recommendations for improving road safety were developed in collaboration with the experts.
Conclusion of the Training
At the end of the course, participants took a final exam designed to evaluate their understanding and practical skills gained during the training. Successful completion of the exam was the basis for awarding international certificates confirming their qualification as road safety auditors.
Outcomes
• Representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications gained practical skills to develop new strategies for improving road safety.
• Faculty members of KSTU will apply the acquired knowledge in preparing future specialists.
• The training laid a foundation for integrating international standards and innovative technologies into road safety audits.
Conclusion
This training marked a significant step toward enhancing road safety in the Kyrgyz Republic. Collaboration with international partners such as MC Mobility and Nast Consultants demonstrates the country's commitment to adopting advanced technologies and global best practices.
